About two years ago now I had to go gluten free due to a bad intolerance. I react like a celiac does when they have gluten but don’t have celiac disease. So when I have gluten I am very sick and not feeling really great. When I went gluten free it was hard and I couldn’t just go to Disneyland and eat and drink everything I loved. I now had to worry about cross contamination and what was in it. I watched so many Instagram stories on this topic before I went and read blog after blog.
So far this is what I have found: Remember at all locations when ordering tell them you are ordering gluten free and they will send out a chef for you to talk with. Gluten free and other allergy friendly options takes a few mins extra. Character dining buffets a chef will come out and show you around and tell you what is safe and not safe to eat. They will even bring you desserts from the back that you can enjoy. Sit down restaurants at Disneyland also have allergy friendly menus make sure to ask your server for one and they are knowledgeable about what is safe for you. Both parks also offer carts with fresh fruits, pickles, popcorn and ice cream that gluten free people can also enjoy.
Disneyland Park:
Pizza Planet-cheese or peperoni pizza on gluten free crust, Tiana’s Place- Gluten free gumbo and shrimp and grits, Blue Buoy-Ask server for allergy menu, Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante- Street tacos, Jolly Holiday-Grilled cheese and tomato soup they can also do other sandwiches, Hungry Bears- Three meat plater with beans and coleslaw it even came with a gluten free bun, Bangel Grill- Skewers without sauce, Mickey ice cream bras, Dole whip
Disney California Adventure:
Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta-Offered several gluten free pastas and gluten free pizza, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill-Bria tacos, Pym’s Test kitchen-Tater tots, Wine country Trattoria-Gluten free pastas, Flo’s V8-Gluten free burger buns for burgers and Carthay circle-Ask for allergy menu.
I hope this was helpful to all my fellow gluten free park goers and I am sure there is more goodies to discover. Enjoy the parks!
