So as I have mentioned I am an elementary school counselor. This is week 2 back to school with students. We have 2 sixth grade classes and I have never seen as much disrespect and rudeness as I have seen from those two classes this year. Why do kids think they can come to school and do what ever they want? People wonder why teachers are leaving the education field well wonder no longer. The amount of behavior and disrespect schools deal with is just ridiculous. Schools should be able to teach and educate not have to constantly babysit and discipline. My absolute favorite part is when the students go home and tell their parents that is all the teachers fault. Then we get a nasty gram saying that their student is not in the wrong.
It comes down to this if we don’t model at home how to be a kind and respectful upstanding person then how do we expect out kids to be?
